Programme's Message

As a result of the globalization of the world economy, rapid adaptation of domestic economies to each other and our country's efforts of convergence with the European Union, the importance and vitality of the Foreign Trade programme is at a constant rise. The necessity for the people who work in the field of customs and foreign trade to have the knowledge of regulations as a result of the new adjustment law, obligation to have a university degree, increase in the complexity of foreign economic and political relations have made Foreign Trade and Customs Management more appealing.

The necessity for the people who work in the field of customs and foreign trade to have the knowledge of regulations as a result of the new adjustment law, obligation to have a university degree, increase in the complexity of foreign economic and political relations have made Foreign Trade and Customs Management more appealing. 

The aim of the Foreign Trade programme is to train the intermediate manpower to work on foreign trade and customs legislation. Those who complete the programme are expected to:

  • Be aware of the importance of following the regulations about the field.
  • Grasp the features of enterprises which operate in business life and foreign trade.
  • Be able to distinguish the documents used in business life.
  • Know the basic concepts of economics and stock market.
  • Have knowledge about the importance of foreign trade for the economy of the country and enterprises.

Our students are obliged to carry out a 50 working-day long internship to graduate. They can carry out their internship at customs, customs consultancy offices, import-export companies or the firms which have foreign trade departments.

Graduates are entitled to take the title “Foreign Trade-Customs Business Professional". Professional staff can complete their internship and work as customs consultant, expert in import and export offices and as civil servant in public institutions.

Those who develop themselves may start their own business and have an active role in business life.

The medium of instruction is Turkish. English preparatory education is optional.
