Educational Objectives

Operating Room Technologists:

  • Know the operating room preparation techniques of all the surgical fields.
  • Prepare the operating rooms.
  • Install the equipment to be used for surgery.
  • Take the specific surgical materials before the patient is brought to the operating room.
  • Open all the necessary materials and equipment kits once the patient is taken to the operating room.
  • Help the surgeon put the patient in the specific position required by the relevant surgical operation.
  • Help others prepare the sterile area.
  • Connect the devices and equipment to be used in this area, and
  • In doing all the above, start the surgery.

The aim of this Programme is to educate prospective semi-skilled professionals with the international-level surgical knowledge who are sought after by both the public and private sectors, respected, qualified, and modern.

Graduates of the Programme is awarded an associate degree diploma and the title “Health Technologist (Operating Room Services)”. Graduates, however, do not have the option to work independently, they can only work in operating room units of the public and private hospitals.
