Knowledge
Students will be able to:

  1. Recognise refractive errors.
  2. Interpret the refractive error prescription to choose the suitable lenses.
  3. Choose the suitable optical devices, dispense them according to specifications, and adjust them for the patients.

Conceptual – Factual

Students will be able to:

  1. Recall the basic theoretical and practical knowledge related to opticianry.
  2. Explain the basic concepts of optics.
  3. Comprehend the national and international resources and basic terminology related to opticianry.

Abilities

Students will be able to:

  1. Recognise optical devices.
  2. Use optical devices.
  3. Maintain optical equipment.

Cognitive – Application

Students will be able to:

  1. Adopt communicative approaches in optics.
  2. Adopt technological developments related to optical devices.

Students will be able to:

  1. Follow scientific and technological developments and improve themselves continually with the awareness of the necessity of lifelong learning.

Students will be able to:

  1. Express their thoughts on the matters related to their fields orally and in writing at the level of basic knowledge and skills they have.
  2. Follow the rules of written and oral communication.
  3. Do homework / prepare reports.
  4. Make oral presentations.
  5. Share their thoughts on the matters and solutions to the problems related to their field with both experts and non-experts.
  6. Do guided studies.

  8. Use a foreign language at least at ELP A2 General Level to follow the new developments in their field, and communicate with their colleagues.
  9. Use English at European Language Portfolio A2 Level.
  10. Use software, as well as information and communication technologies, at least at Base Level of the European Computer Driving Licence required by their field.
