Those who would like to be a Physiotherapy Technologists should:

  • Be interested in science, particularly biology and physics, and successful in these fields.
  • Be physically strong and durable.
  • Coordinate their eyes and hands.
  • Have advanced hand and finger skills.
  • Be able to understand others and be willing to help them.
  • Be patient, affectionate, careful and responsible.

Working Environment and Conditions

Physiotherapy Technologists can work in hospitals, rehabilitation centres, private health institutions, special education services, sports or health centres, professional or amateur sports clubs, nursing homes, spas and thermal facilities. Their working environment is clean and quiet. They usually perform their jobs by administering different equipment standing up. They coordinate with patients, physicians, and physiotherapists.

Working Areas and Job Opportunities

They can work in public and private hospitals, Ministry of Health, municipalities, university hospitals, rehabilitation centres, private clinics, sports clubs, and nursing homes.

They will ensure that dysfunctions occurred after increasing traffic or other working accidents are prevented from being permanent, and patients gain their physical independence.

As the society become aware that people with disabilities should be integrated into the community and work where they can be efficient, the importance of people working in this field are increasing, and accordingly, the need for employees in this field is increasing.

Professional Advancement

Students who complete the Associate Degree Programme in Physiotherapy can transfer to an Undergraduate Degree Programme in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, if they take and pass the Vertical Transfer (Transfer from a Two-Year College to a 4-Year One) Examination (DGS) administered by the Centre for Assessment, Selection, and Placement (ÖSYM).
